Reportedly, Sumanta bose, a final year student Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology–Trichy ( NIT-T), has been awarded 750 Euros(51716.40 Indian rupees) under ‘Grant for Students’ to take part in international conference: Metamaterials 2012, in Russia next month.

Sumanta Bose has received an invitation for participation in the conference and to present his research paper by its chairperson Filiberto Bilotti, a Ph.D. degree holder in electronics engineering from the university ‘Roma Tre’, Rome, Italy. Sumanta’s research paper titled ‘Theoretical Investigations of a N-sided Regular Polygon Split Ring Resonator with Skew Rotation’ co-authored by S. Raghavan, senior professor in the ECE department.
Metamaterials, according to Prof. Raghavan, has diverse applications, including remote aerospace, sensor detection, smart solar power management, and high-frequency battlefield communication. Thanking Mr. Raghavan for his support throughout the research process, Sumanta, a Ph.D aspirant said his exposure at the international conference would enable his research with specialisation in metamaterials.
Sumnata’s other areas of interest: Antennas and propagation, photonics and microwave imaging
