Second year engineering student found dead in hostel

Reportedly a 19-year-old second year engineering student ‘Ramprasad’ of the Madras Institute of Technology, was found in a pool of blood on the hostel campus in Chrompet on Thursday. He was taken to a hospital by the police but was declared ‘brought dead’.

Police said it was not clear whether the deceased committed suicide or fell down accidentally from the third floor terrace of the hostel. They went to the hostel after they received a call from the students. Ramprasad joined the production engineering course from Dindigul and his father was a manager with the Indian Overseas Bank.
